At Stanford, it is possible to combine an education from one of the world’s top universities with a successful collegiate career in ski racing. Although we compete at the NCAA Division II level, we are a club sport meaning our team and coaches cannot significantly support your application to Stanford. That being said, if Stanford is one of your top choices, we would love to hear from you at any point during the application process to answer any questions you may have about the team, setup a phone call or in-person meeting on campus, and support your application the best we can. You can reach out to us via email at email@example.com or by filling out the recruiting form for prospective students below.
Admission to Stanford is very competitive, but certainly achievable. The Admissions committee requires submission of either the Common App or the Coalition Application with the Stanford-specific supplement. For testing they require either the SAT or the ACT (with writing). SAT II subject tests are optional, but should be submitted if you think they can help showcase your strengths in specific subject areas. You should plan to take these tests by the end of your junior year, so that you can devise a studying and test-taking strategy for the remainder of high school. More details about the application process can be found on the Stanford Admissions website.
The Stanford Ski Team does not offer athletic scholarships, but admission is need-blind and Stanford offers generous financial aid packages to all students in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study. Stanford guarantees to meet 100% of each student’s demonstrated need for all four years of their undergraduate education. You will need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile to apply for financial aid and more details about the process can be found on the Stanford Financial Aid website.
